Whenever I sit down with students or new hires, I usually drop a short story: I started from nothing—dead broke, zero connections. From that starting line, I pushed myself out into the world, working and learning across multiple countries.
I see it in their eyes every time—that mix of innocence and awe. And then comes the million-dollar question: “But I’ve got nothing—no experience, no capital, no clue. How can I ever do what you did?”
The answer is stupidly simple, yet it’s the hardest mountain to climb: HABITS. Success isn’t a cinematic “big leap.” It’s the boring, repetitive, small steps you take every single day when nobody is watching.
I usually hit them with a quick reality check:
- The Note-Taker: Who here immediately writes down a golden nugget of wisdom the moment you learn it?
- The Athlete: Who moves their body for at least 30 minutes, three times a week, without fail?
- The Finisher: Who has actually sat down and finished a whole book cover-to-cover lately?
- The Polyglot: Who spends at least 30 minutes a day grinding on a new language?
- The Listener: Who has the discipline to shut up and listen until the other person is completely finished before replying?
If you can raise your hand for all of the above, congrats: you’ve already won. I’m telling you right now, in 10 years, you won’t just catch up—you’ll blow past where I am today.
Success is just a collection of habits.
What about you? Are you actually serious about designing your life, or are you just window shopping?
Don’t wait for a “sign” or the “perfect moment.” Start today. A tiny, “boring” habit today is the down payment on a legendary life tomorrow.
Ahaalife – Peace is here, and now. Build your boat.
