“Then What?” – When Happiness is an Infinite Journey
I was recently bragging to an old buddy about my “life overhaul” plan. I jokingly call it redesigning my existence—or, for the sake of sounding fancy, designing a life worth living. The plan includes some pretty “audacious” milestones. For instance, I’m planning to build a social media presence with follower counts that a “tech-dinosaur” and “anti-social-media” guy like me wouldn’t have looked twice at before.
After listening, my friend nodded: “Bold move. Ambitious. And seeing your discipline lately, I’d say it’s doable.” But then, he threw a question that made me freeze mid-sip of my coffee:
“But hey, once you hit all those marks… then what?”
That question sparked a fire in me, which is why I’m writing this. Because honestly, out there, how many people have touched the “summit” they once dreamed of, only to find that on top of that mountain, there’s nothing but cold wind and a sense of soul-crushing mediocrity?
I’m not like those people. When I set this “ambitious” plan, I wasn’t looking for a final moment of satisfaction. These goals are just lighthouses to keep me sailing in the right direction.
I’m enjoying the sailing!
1. Happiness isn’t the Trophy; It’s the Grind
I’m “awake” enough to know that hitting a massive follower count or making a mountain of cash isn’t the “destination” for happiness. If I thought that, I’d be digging my own grave in the “Expiration Date of Happiness” trap I talked about in [Part 1].
Actually, my happiness feels “weird” now. It shows up every morning at 5:00 AM when I lace up my shoes and think: “Wow, I have another day to mold this life exactly the way I want.” It’s actually pretty fun!
The thrill of designing, failing, and “going all in” on crazy ideas—that’s what gets me high. Big goals aren’t there so I can “buy” happiness; they are excuses to create value. I’m not just designing a life for myself. I want this journey to be a spark, so more brothers out there start picking up the pen to redraw their own maps. If I can contribute even a tiny bit of inspiration to someone’s change, then that happiness flows forever. It never stops.
2. “Enough” – The Starting Line, Not the Finish
To be chill enough to “design” this and that, and to be present enough to enjoy every step of the run, your stomach can’t be growling and your mind can’t be in a panic. I realized a hard truth: We don’t design a life to escape scarcity; we do it to celebrate abundance.
A statistic once haunted me: “If you have enough food to eat, clothes to wear, and a roof over your head, your quality of life is better than 1 billion people on this planet.”
When I put myself in that context, I realized my “enough” is actually a luxury. Our tragedy usually isn’t a lack of stuff; it’s the emptiness of the soul when we stand on a solid foundation but have no clue where to go. If I only used this “abundance” to live a “safe” life—dragging my body to work in the morning and hauling it back at night, obsessing over deadlines just for a raise or a title—I’d be wasting my time. I’d regret it deeply when it’s time to leave this earth.

Living only to solve personal problems and then quietly exiting without leaving a single ripple? To me, that’s a massive waste of resources. When your belly is full and your back is warm, that’s when you earn the privilege to ask the ultimate question: What did I do to make this planet more beautiful than the day I arrived?
3. An Audacious Plan: Living for Influence
That’s why my social media plan isn’t about showing off a car or a dusty tent. I want to use “virtual power” to create “real value.”
The “arrogance” here isn’t about vanity; it’s about betting on a bigger commitment. I want to build an ecosystem where:
- My voice becomes a bridge for real, no-nonsense charity campaigns.
- Shelters are built and scholarships are awarded from the very resources this community creates.
I’m playing with my cards face-up from the start: A portion of the income from this platform will go straight to community work. I don’t call this a “project.” I call it a Legacy. A system that keeps running, keeps helping, even when I’ve “ascended” and I’m swimming on some beach in the afterlife.
To me, that’s an investment with an Infinite ROI—because its value never dies; it just transforms from one life to another. That is why my happiness never stops.
4. Answering “Then What?”
Back to my friend’s question: “Once you achieve it, then what?”
The answer is simple: Whatever. Who cares?
Because this journey is infinite. When you treat creating value as your breath and discipline as your joy, you never have to worry about the “finish line.” You are enjoying a happiness with no expiration date—a state of “owning the game” where every result makes you smile.
What about you?
Are you actually “designing” your life, or are you just letting the current drift you wherever? Everyone’s journey is different—some like climbing mountains, some like sleeping on the floor—but the point is, we have to start.
Don’t wait for the promotion to feel joy. Don’t wait for retirement to allow yourself to live. Give it a shot today—it’s actually pretty cool! Let every step you take mean something, even if it’s tiny.
