Worry, in truth, is an imaginary play the mind writes, directs, and performs all on its own. We sit in the audience of our own making, staging the worst-case scripts – and suffering through them, even though most will never happen.
Seneca said it best: we suffer more often in imagination than in reality.
And yet we keep paying for that play with something real – the minutes of our own life. Every minute spent worrying is a minute stolen from the life actually unfolding in front of you.
Instead of letting your mind stay locked inside those imagined ghosts, give it back to your body and to action. Put on your shoes, run, let the negative thoughts fall behind with every step. Pick up a good book, watch something that moves you, sit down with a friend whose mind sparks yours – a fresh perspective is often enough to wake you up. And most of all, trade the “worry” for a “plan” – fear only survives in stillness, action always makes it disappear.
You are the one driving. Not a passenger to your own wandering thoughts.
Live so that every day is an adventure worth having – that’s the only play worth performing.
Ahaalife – A life worth living.
